POSESIVELE (THE POSSESSIVES)
PRONUMELE POSESIVE - nu sunt urmate de substantive
Forme: mine, yours, his, hers, -, ours, yours, theirs
e.g. She has got a red car. The red car is hers. (Ea are o mașină roșie. Mașina roșie este a ei.)
- s-a folosit în această propoziție pronumele posesiv (hers) deoarece posesivul NU mai este urmat de un cuvânt/substantiv
ADJECTIVELE POSESIVE - sunt urmate de substantive.
Forme: my, your, his, her, its, our, your, their
e.g. She has got a red car. Her car is red. (Ea are o mașină roșie. Mașina ei este roșie.)
- s-a folosit în această propoziție adjectivul posesiv (her) deoarece posesivul este urmat de un substantiv (car)

THEY’RE - THEIR
they’re = they are e.g. They’re my cousins. (Ei sunt verișorii mei.)
their = possessive adjective e.g. Their cousins are polite. (Verișorii lor sunt politicoși.)
IT’S - ITS
it’s = it is e.g. Its my pencil. = It is my pencil. (El e creionul meu.)
its = possessive adjective e.g. Its fur is white. (Blana lui e albă.)
